Our Bethel Bash Tournament yesterday was a huge success.  Everything went so smoothly even though we doubled the number of wrestlers we had at last years tournament.  Our BYWC wrestling family showed amazing teamwork, and the results were obvious to all who participated and attended.  "Thank You" is not enough for all of the hard work our volunteer parents and families put in.  Your confinuted support of our BYWC team is much appreciated...know that our combined efforts are bringing BYWC to a higher level.  All our efforts bring much needed income to our self funded team, which in turn enables us to buy new and better equipment for our wrestlers.

Congratulations to our alumnus Greg Pace for being the first wrestler inducted into the Bethel High School Hall of Fame last night.   Greg has made everyone associated with BYWC very proud and shows us how hard work pays off on and off the mat.  Greg started wrestling in Bethel as a fifth grader in 1994 in our BYWC program.  His high school record was 162 wins / 11 losses.  He was also 4 time SWC Champion, being the first person from any school to accomplish that.  He was a two time Class M Champion, and then went on to win the State Opens two times - being Bethel's first wrestler to win it.  He was also second in the New England Championships, which is the highest place any Bethel Wrestler has ever placed.   He then went on to earn a wrestling scholarship to Brown University, and is currently in Med School school.

Thank you to all BYWC families for showing such suport today and throughout the season.  In addition we would like to expecially thank our amazing fundraiser, Sarah Hoch.  She is tireless in her efforts to continually raise money for the team, and we so very much appreciate everything she does.  Between last weeks tournament and the raffles at the banquet today, we have generated thousands of dollars for the teams needs in addition to being able to donate $138 to the Red Cross for all their continued support and help throught the season.
